The Evolution of the Philippine Sex Online (Part 1)

I have seen how this forums have grown multiplied, proliferated and died out in the past decade. It was an amazing and yet a great opportunity to see, delve and find some treasures in the past decade of my enlightenment with internet capabilities slightly introducing itself as a format of it all. The law enforcement agencies are keeping up pace with the modern times and technology in enforcing laws with the help of news media personalities such as Mike Enriquez of Imbestigador (GMA 7) and defunct-XXX (ABS-CBN).

In my college years in the late 1990s to early 2000s I was a naive college kid and was having a great time on being independent and living away from my parents. I did experiences the dorm life with fun, enthusiasm and  troubles as well. I never had a checkered life like the privileged rich guys who had great time boozing around I was an ordinary student going through and struggling with my everyday life on studies, friends and even love life.

The MIRC Fun Days (1999 to 2001)

I discovered MIRC when I was 16 or 17 years of age in my freshman year. The world of chat rooms was new to me at first and they are proliferating like mushrooms. My older brother introduced me to this to download MP3 files of songs in the internet. I began to explore more on MIRC wherein men and women and sometimes gays and lesbians converge in this sophisticated digital world. I instantly got hook into this when I discovered it on one occasion during my term paper research in college when I rented out a PC from a Computer shop in the U-belt area on chat room called #Manila, #Fairfield #QC and others. I am seeing many students from other universities doing the same thing and got into chatting. I found out that I was not alone in the digital world at one point in time. I shown my discovery and played around a bit with some of my college classmates who were eager to try this and meet other people locally and around the world especially in Europe. One day, me and my buddies chanced upon a computer shop called Bill's Gate near University of East and tested it out. We did not know we have unsuspecting a female Centro Escolar University student who was chatting as well and was a few rows away from us. We dared her to stand up and come out and she did. We were hilarious and were laughing silently with our joke on her when she obliged as we did not stand up at all but giggled. She was NOT pretty in our terms and kept laughing inside like mad men until we decided to check out and pay the bills and leave. As we got out of the shop. She was a victim of our butt of jokes as I can recall. We were laughing hard on the outcome of our unexpected adventure and we went by to the nearest fish ball vendors and street foods cart for a treat on our daring misadventure.

On my sophomore year, I had three encounters with female students of different school. I went again on an unsuspecting female student from San Sebastian College. She was only 15 and a high school student and we were 17 or 18 year old guys on our sophomore year in college. We asked her to meet us up in a second floor PC shop at Ever-Gotesco Mall. We were looking for her first knowing the San Sebastian College uniforms of Baste College girls but to no avail until we saw a young girl standing near the PC shop counter waiting for someone and was wearing a SSC high school uniform. I mustered my guts to talk to her if she was the lady on MIRC with her online name and she said "Yes" right away. I admit I got frantic and decided to treat her for a pizza at a nearby restaurant. We talked and it was a cumbersome conversation and we learned a lot from each other knowing I was lying about my real identity and what college I am from even if I am wearing a known UAAP school uniform where I was studying before. I introduce myself to her a Arts student taking up Political Science just to confuse her if it comes to a point where she would hound me but my conscience broke in and decided to abort. It didn't stop there, my good old classmate took on the reins of this lady and he went talking to her daily on the telephone. She was apprehensive at such that the guy at the other end of the line has a thick Ilocano accent of a probinsyano from the north when I hailed from Central Luzon but my accent was masked with years of stay in Metro Manila.

The second encounter was with a accountancy student from University of the East. I told her I am wearing a white shirt but was on a yellow shirt instead. She was spying on the glass window of the Wendy's Fastfood Chains in Ever Gotesco Recto. I was determined to meet her but she wasn't interested with me. I gave up the search.

The third one is with a reception clerk of a chat room in Bill's Gate. She was a working student from the same university where I studied. She mentioned to me on one discussion that she is new in Manila and she hails from Tarlac. This was her first job at the computer shop. Although, I got acquainted with her in the following month eventually on our second to third year in college. Relationship between us never blossomed as we just remained acquainted but not really close friends.

The Random Cellphone Number Craziness  (1999 to 2002)

Do you still remember the time when you are receiving SMS from a random number. I tried replying to it a couple of times with these ladies. I was a stud thinking maybe these girls are studying in nearby school in Manila but learned that they are from Mindanao like in Tagum City or Davao City. I have the notion of inviting with them here in Metro Manila so that we can party and maybe make a score with a young southern lass from Mindanao when Facebook, Friendster or any social media outlets are still a not available back then.

This was worst experience with my best friends  when we went out one day to meet a lady from Centro Escolar University (CEU). I aided him on his misadventure and gone inside a nearby 7-11 store in Legarda Street overlooking Mendiola Bridge and the school (which I believe is a Merriam-Webster Book Store nowadays?). At that time we were waiting for her dismissal in 30 minutes tops and walked our way from our rented apartment somewhere in Sampaloc and rode the jeepney to the back of UE and ending up in Legarda Street. We were waiting for that lady on the designated rendezvous and time they agreed upon. We were both in our school uniforms and good thing there are other two random guys wearing the same uniforms from our university who were eating at the convenience store. We told her we were waiting, while she was texting us. We have some CEU ladies crossing the streets. We were nervous on what our next move is, there is one lady who was fast approaching the store entrance I signaled my buddy to quit it. As she entered the store, she was making a missed call on my friend's mobile phone. Good thing, he shifted the ringer into silent mode just in case the meeting is a failure and we need to bail out. It turns out the CEU lady did not pass our criteria and taste and decided to quit the game that day. Eventually we snuck out quiely acting cool out of the store while lady was snooping on the shelves and we pretended we are just passing through. She eventually was eyeing on the two random guys wearing the same uniforms as ours. Probably were were those two dummies she was meeting up.
