Animals like this so called "Tuko" or Tokay Gecko (in English) are being hunted down for their medicinal values especially by foreigners as cure for HIV/AIDS. As many of our national health officials from the Department of Health and World Health Organization have disproved the claims because there are no scientific evidences yet on this issue. Too many scams around so don't get fooled with it.The Department of Environment and National Resources (DENR) are alarmed with the growing loss of this lizards would cause havoc in the balance of our ecosystem. I hope that people would stop this and the lowly will become an endangered species of animals in our land. Stop the illegal trade.
